Ottawa Whiskey is back!

For those of you who have been following the blog, you have undoubtedly noticed that I was away for a while. Nothing special, just working on other things, both inside whiskey and outside whiskey and doing some travelling. It was a great winter and spring but now I am back with a bunch of new content, some new scotch tasting ottawa events completed, some new whiskey friends and a bunch of new whiskies.

This year I have decided to add some new stuff into the mix. I am still loving my journey through Scotland whiskey and it will still be my main focus. But, with the events happening in the world, I wanted to carve out some time and space for Canadian whiskey. It deserves a place at the whiskey table. There are amazing things going on across our country and I want to do my part to promote it and speak about it.

There are countless awards being won by Canadians passionate about making whiskey. Canadian awards and International awards alike. Some distilleries are pushing the boundaries of flavour, technique, maturation and ingredients, and the whiskey world has been taking notice. New ingredients like west coast sugar kelp and local peat for smoking Canadian grain. Mountain air, Canadian prairie grain, and coastal fresh sea air and making some great expressions.

Canadians all across the country being able to access what is being produced right here at home. Provincial barriers are being broken down, so if you see something from another part of Canada, buy it and give it a try.

So, grab your favourite dram, and continue the journey with Ottawa Whiskey!
