Whiskey BBQ Sauce Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup ketchup
  • 1/2 cup whiskey (a little more if you like more whiskey flavour)
  • 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 1 tablespoon smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional)

Instructions:

  1. In a medium saucepan, combine all ingredients and stir well.
  2. Bring the mixture to a boil over medium heat, then reduce the heat and simmer for 20-30 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the sauce thickens.
  3. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
  4. Use immediately or store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 1 week.
