
Ingredients:
- 1 cup ketchup
- 1/2 cup whiskey (a little more if you like more whiskey flavour)
- 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 1 tablespoon smoked paprika
- 1 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional)
Instructions:
- In a medium saucepan, combine all ingredients and stir well.
- Bring the mixture to a boil over medium heat, then reduce the heat and simmer for 20-30 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the sauce thickens.
- Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
- Use immediately or store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 1 week.
